The award winning City of Yukon Parks & Recreation Department oversees three recreational facilities, three aquatic facilities, 12 beautiful parks and over 20 annual special events. Yukon offers it all. There are programs for toddlers, seniors and everyone in between.
Yukon Oklahoma Recreational FacilitiesThe Yukon Oklahoma Community Center, Jackie Cooper Gym and the Robertson Activity Center offer free membership to Yukon residents living in the 73099 zip code. All children attending Yukon Public Schools are eligible for free membership. Non-residents wishing to use the Yukon Community Center or Jackie Cooper Gym facilities are required to pay a $5.00 daily fee. These two facilities offer over 100 programs annually.
The Yukon Community Center, 2200 S Holly, 405-354-8442, has a full size basketball court, a game room, weight room and offers meeting rooms available for public use. Programs are offered to elementary age students during school breaks. Other offerings include morning fellowship with Wake Up and Walk, tennis classes, Bunko, Garden Club and many other programs and sports leagues throughout the year. The Learning Connection Preschool is also offered.
The Jackie Cooper Gym, 1024 E. Main Street, 405-350-8920, is a popular local athletic venue. It offers two full size courts for basketball, volleyball and badminton. Volleyball and basketball leagues, indoor t-ball, soccer for four and five year olds, pick-up games and many other programs and sports leagues are offered throughout the year.
The Robertson Activity Center, 1200 Lakeshore Drive, 405-350-7680, offers seniors 55 and older a place for activities, reminiscing and tasty daily lunches. A wide variety of programs that appeal to senior adults are offered, such as dominoes, wood carving and dancing. A van is available to pick-up seniors needing transportation to and from the center.
