Real Estate Tips: Buying a Home
Buying a home. Best tips for buying a home.
Buying a home in Oklahoma City? I'm Valerie McEvoy of RE/MAX Preferred Properties. As a Realtor® who loves to show and sell homes in the OKC real estate market, I can tell you that preparation is key in buying a home and getting a good deal.
The most important first step you can take whenever you're buying a home is to start doing some research on your own. Hey, it never hurts to review the Internet websites, magazines real estate listings online and in print and get an idea of what's available in the city that you're looking to buy homes. Good sites like RE/MAX.com and local agent sites are preferred over Zillow and Truila.
Take a look at the Saturday real estate sections in your local newspaper look at homes that have been listed for a while look at price reductions that of being happening look at the most active neighborhoods where people are looking to buy or sell a home.
After you determine what area of the city that you would like to buy homes and then you have to start looking at your financing.
You always want to determine how much how she can afford before you start looking for homes in earnest. Visit with a quality lender either in your bank or one recommended on a team like Preferred Properties here in OKC. Have your real estate agent step in and advise you. Use my quality home lending officer in my office.
The reason you want to do this is because you'll have much tighter communication between your realtor the lender and the real estate deal that you're working on everything is under one roof.
Remember to get a free home value report of property values in the neighborhood you choose to buy a home. You must know the accurate and current price trends in the community in which you plan on buying a home.
Also, use a quality mortgage lender to pre-approve you for your home loan. You want to know your buying power. You don't need to spend the entire amount of your home buying power, but you want to know what amount you can offer to make your home purchase.
Review popular neighborhoods online that show solid price stability and good value in homes for sale. Use a good local Realtor® who understands the special needs of home buyers. Plan well and plan early and you will succeed!
